Joseph Voket

Joe Voket is a former operational member of U.S. Marine Reconnaissance and Connecticut State Police Emergency Services Unit.  He has participated in numerous high risk operations as a SWAT/Tactical Team Leader, Operator, and Tactical Bomb Technician.  These operations include the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting where he was the Tactical Team Leader responsible for the initial entry and search of the school and was a Tactical Bomb Technician in Watertown during the take-down of suspect Dzhokar Tsarnaev providing lethal cover for Boston Police and EMS.

After more than 26 years of service Joe retired from the Connecticut State Police where he served as a Patrol Trooper, Investigator for the Statewide Narcotics and Organized Crime Task Forces and for his last 17 plus years, Tactical Unit Coordinator for the Emergency Services Unit. For over 17 years, Joe was responsible for setting up and conducting bi-monthly Tactical Team training, monthly sniper, explosive breaching and Tactical Bomb Technician training.  His response and certification responsibilities included; Tactical Team Leader, Bomb Technician, Explosive Detection Canine Handler, and Diver.  Additionally, Joe was a member of the NESPAC (New England State Police Administrators Compact) Tactical Team Instructor Cadre which provided semi annual and as needed tactical courses in firearms, basic and advanced tactical schools, forced entry and sniper operations.  He also, served as a board member and instructor for  the Connecticut POST Active Shooter program developed the curriculum and implemented the instruction to State and Municipal Police Officers.

Joe has attended numerous military and law enforcement special operations related schools and high level training events and is a competitive IDPA, USPSA and Long Range Precision Rifle shooter.  He is a certified law enforcement instructor and has provided instruction on the following disciplines;  firearms (pistol, shotgun, patrol rifle, sub-gun, sniper rifle), high risk warrant service, hostage rescue, barricaded subject resolution, rapid deployment/active shooter, protective security details, forced entry,explosive breaching and sniper operations.  In addition, Joe is a graduate of the FBI Tactical Bomb Technician program and served as part of their TBT instructor cadre until his retirement.
